Fender Japan usedall of the above lettering sequences for the serial numbering of their guitars and basses over the years, andknowing this first will help you determine the year of manufacture. These stamps can be found in differentlocations on your guitar, so now I'll tell you where you need to look to find these markings... acronym for "Japan Vintage" On these guitars you will find the letters "JV" stamped/engraved into the neck plate of the Stratocasters and bass guitars and on the bridges of the Telecasters and other guitar models.

The KC and KV forms are apparently associated with the change to Crafted in Korea.

So, post-1996 models only would have this form of serial number. Well, your post led me on a bit search, nay, mission to find out when my old strat was built.

On early Fender JV models, you will also find "MADE IN JAPAN" written very small under the Fender spaghetti logo on the headstock of the guitar.

On later Fender JV models, the "MADE IN JAPAN" can be found on the heel of the guitar neck, just above the metal neck plate.

With those goals and others in mind, Squier will continue to offer products with features and prices that deliver truly excellent value, from beginners to hobbyists to working musicians alike.

No category for Chinese guitars, and I can't find my serial # (&/or letter code) anywhere. It's a really solid guitar, feels/sounds like an old '60's Fender, & I really want to know when it was made &, if possible, at what city/plant. thats just your category in the forum (you are considered a hobbyist because you started in the forum i'm considered professional because of the number of posts i have done in this forum)welcome to the forum by the way Small headstock meaning '60's rather than '70's style? I think there're 11 holes as per pickguard; I seem to remember counting them while considering a replacement with 3 hb (rail) pu's. c-shaped neck, not too hefty, sustains really well especially for having single-coil pu's. peace I would hazard a guess based on past experience that it is probably a 2003.

Hope you like 'em :-) The green Les Paul is a pretty special guitar. I don't need it, hardly use it, but it's a wonderfully made guitar.

USA Fender Strat 1957-2007 Special Limited Edition. Blonde 'see through' paint job, thin 50's profile neck (thinner than the Mexican) and gorgeous tone. Close up of the nice neck plate on the USA 1957-2007 Strat! [/url] , I noticed that EU "do not put this item in the bin" sticker on the neckplate, too. Incidentally, and not wishing to hijack, but I've just put up my Fenix Jazz bass on Fleeb.

(pickup screws and switch screws don't count)don't worry about the hobbyist thing... Small headstock meaning '60's rather than '70's style? 'preciate it.'s ok, i imagine they're rare enough that i have something different... like i said, reminds me of an original from the '60's.

and does the pickguard have 11 screw holes around it?
